Start the school year off right by using your Tulare County Library branch. Even veteran library users might not know about some of the library’s resources for students.

Look for the books you need for assignments on the Tulare County Library website or in your branch library, whether you need print books, audio books (downloadable or CD) and eBooks, find classics, current fiction and nonfiction books for students of all ages. If we don’t have it, request from libraries throughout the San Joaquin Valley system.

Reliable and trusted information for your research paper is found in great online resources, including reference books, newspapers and magazines. Search thousands of reference books, hundreds of thousands of images, or hundreds of magazines and newspapers with easy help to cite the information.

Tulare County Library patrons can access live qualified tutors familiar with California curriculum. HelpNow’s tutors assist in both English and Spanish on almost every subject and at any grade level from kindergarten through college- level core subjects. You can even upload your papers to HelpNow for editing feedback. Sign on with your library card and create an account for access. Tutors are available to assist you from 1-10 p.m. seven days a week via your personal computer, laptop or the app on your smartphone or device.

Our dedicated and trained librarians and staff love helping people find information. No matter what you are looking for – a book for school or fun, online resource or help to get started – just ask.

Students are welcome to use the library as a space to do homework and write papers. The Visalia branch even has a Homework Center located in the Children’s Wing with Chromebooks. Access our free internet at all locations and Wi-Fi at some locations, and type and print your assignments for just 10 cents a page.
